About Sherry
Sherry Roy has lived in the North Okanagan-Shuswap area for 40+ years, and has always been an active member of the community. Her background is in social work, family court, and family counselling. Sherry was a registered mediator and is now a Certified Holistic Health Coach. She is a boots on the ground advocate for the rights of local citizens.
Sherry has always been a connector and collaborator, holding several large community events at her home where hundreds have gathered. While City Council Members and MLAs were invited to attend; none showed up!
Sherry believes the election in October is a critical time for the voices of the people in the North Okanagan-Shuswap riding to be heard NOW! Party politics has become far removed from the people. Running as an Independent for the community, to bring the people's platform forward is her passion now.
How Sherry believes we can better our community
The power is in the people! We don't need to keep doing the same thing and vote for the same people who have put us into this mess.
Get educated! Knowledge is key and it is important to understand that there are other options. We don't have to keep playing the same game.
Get involved! It doesn't take much, it can be as simple as joining an email list, attending an event, or taking in some information.
Get out and vote! Don't let your opportunity to make a difference slip by and take the time to vote for a change this October.

INTRODUCING THE "NOT JUST LIP SERVICE" CAMPAIGN:
Sherry believes that provincial party politics have strayed too far from the needs of our community. "We need real solutions to issues like affordable housing, transparency in government, fire management services, and healthcare," she emphasizes. Sherry is determined to tackle these challenges head-on, ensuring the concerns of Shuswap residents are prioritized.
A FOCUS ON COMMUNITY NEEDS:
As a former social worker and registered mediator, Sherry is passionate about advocating for local citizens' rights. She understands the struggles residents face, including rising taxes and a lack of opportunities for the younger generation. "We must address long-standing issues such as water safety, fire management, and farming challenges", she states. Sherry believes it's time for a change. After decades of party politics, the community deserves better representation that truly reflects their needs. "People are tired of being unheard.
